My closet is a disaster! How do I fix it?
You’re in the right place! Start by browsing our website for inspiration! This gives you the opportunity to view storage options that will accommodate your vision and lifestyle. We offer a wide selection of material options, door styles and accessories which are represented on our website. The next step...give us a call so we can make an appointment for a personalized consultation!

How long does it take for a consultation?
We allow approximately 1 hour for the average consultation. This allows us time to evaluate your needs and measure the space you are organizing. It’s important that we have an understanding of exactly what you’d like accomplish in the space.

What format do you use to present the custom design?
We design in a CAD program which generates a 2D design. This can be emailed to you or presented in person. For an additional fee, a 3D rendering will be generated which can also be emailed or presented in person.

What do I need to do to place the order for my design?
Once you’ve approved a design, we require a deposit before we process the paperwork to begin manufacturing and order any specialty items we need to complete your custom job.

How long before I can expect my installation?
We schedule jobs based on the complexity of the design and schedule availability. Each cabinet is custom crafted to your specifications, not picked from standard inventory stock. Usually, we can schedule a job within 2 to 3 weeks from the date you approve the design.

What do I need to do before you arrive to install my closet interior?
Prior to installation, the closet must be emptied of its contents. We will remove any existing shelving material and patch any holes at no additional charge. Our professional installers ensure that the job is done with precision and will leave the premises clean.

Do you offer wire shelving systems?
We stock Rubbermaid shelving and accessories for organizing closets and garages at budget prices. Rubbermaid offers a terrific product called free slide shelving that allows hangers to glide the full length of the shelf. Tightmesh shelving has decking wires spaced ½” apart (so small items don’t tip over) making it strong enough to handle heavy-duty storage.

Do you offer solid wood shelving and cabinets?
Yes! We offer maple, oak, walnut and mahogany real wood veneer on a wood core. This is the material of choice for built-ins, cabinets and many kinds of furniture. It is more stable than solid wood and available in many grades and species.

Do you reface kitchen cabinets?
YES! Our production processes and cabinet doors lend themselves beautifully to transforming kitchen cabinets! For a fraction of the cost of replacing your kitchen cabinets, you can update and revitalize your kitchen without the mess of a total renovation.

Is Rylex insured?
Yes, we are fully insured. We do not use subcontractors and we have the utmost confidence in our installers.

Do you guarantee your products?
Yes! We stand behind our products and installation. If you encounter any problems with our products or installation, we will do everything we can to correct them.

Why should I choose Rylex Custom Cabinetry and Closets to help me organize my home?
We have been the Hudson Valley’s source of custom designed storage solutions for 25 years. We have the knowledge, experience and enthusiasm to tackle even the most challenging storage situations. We have a large spectrum of products that allow our designers to offer solutions best suited to your needs and budgetary parameters.

Why shouldn’t I just buy closet parts from a local home center and install it myself?
This is always an option. Often the total material cost (when you add their expensive hardware) isn’t much of a savings. In addition, your time is valuable and often the money you saved is not nearly enough to justify your frustrations. Then, there is the waste factor. They offer standard sizes, we offer custom sizes...that means ANY size! Buying their standard sizes often means cutting and piecing to get the parts to fit your space. In addition, one of the biggest advantages we offer is our extensive experience designing storage solutions that meet your needs...you don’t have to settle for standard sizes.

What is melamine (TFM)?
Since it was introduced, TFM (thermofused melamine) has become the product of choice for designers, architects and builders chiefly because it is the most stable, economical, versatile and resource-efficient material available. Innovative processes have set a new standard of excellence with textured surfaces and trendsetting colors expanding design options.

The melamine we use has a core of 100% recycled and recovered wood fibers. A melamine resin-impregnated decorative paper is then thermally fused on to this core with heat and pressure to create a durable, stain resistant surface. This process produces a permanent bond between the melamine surface and the inner core.

Since no trees are harvested in the production of the melamine products we use, it is the responsible choice for anyone concerned about sustainability. 80% of the raw materials used in the manufacture of our melamine comes from wood processors like lumber mills and furniture plants. The remaining 20% is post-consumer waste wood from construction and demolition.
