One Custom Closet

A shared closet doesn’t mean shared habits—and this one was designed with that in mind. The two spaces are separate, but equal, with each side customized around its owner’s wardrobe, routines, and storage priorities.

The result is a closet that feels cohesive without asking either partner to organize the way the other does. Her side makes room for jewelry, shoes, scarves, and those finishing touches. His side gives ties, belts, shoes, and grab-and-go essentials their own designated spots.

And then there’s the lighting. Integrated lighting illuminates the darker recesses of the shelving, while lighted garment rods put illumination directly where it’s needed. Because overhead lighting may set the mood in a dining room, but in a closet, its job is to help you tell navy from black. A surprisingly important distinction.
