Museum Display Cabinets

We were pleased to have the opportunity to work with S-Tech Associates on this project. They were chosen to refurbish twenty-two 1:5 scale extremely detailed sculptures representing a wide variety of military forces and regiments engaged in the American Revolution. The sculptures themselves were commissioned for the American Bi-Centennial in the 1970’s. Prior to the conservation effort, a variety of environmental factors caused deterioration of the original sculptures over the years.

S-Tech Associates spent months on the sculpture remediation effort. The actual work proceeded more like artifact conservation than traditional model work. The finishing touches were provided by new

pedestal bases,

which were

designed and fabricated

by Rylex Custom Cabinetry and Closets with

energy efficient light boxes

and

ventilation systems.

Museum quality acrylic covers,
or vitrines, were custom fabricated to protect the delicate exhibits while allowing for optimal viewing.

We thank S-Tech for allowing us to be a part of this refurbishing project and applaud their conservation efforts!
